This is a lovely story about companionship and is a great introduction to art for young readers.

Louie the dog watches everyday as his young friend does his paintings. One day, when the boy is at school, Louie tries his hand at painting too. Amazingly he creates a creditable copy of Cezanne while at the same time trashing the boy’s studio.

I love Barroux’s illustrations and these are no different. An easy read with as much emphasis on the art as the text.
